Nates Return Home

Nate's home and I couldn't be happier!!! I was so excited to go pick him up that I couldn't even wait for 4:30 I was at school at like 4:14 ~ and I got a good parking spot. You could tell other parents were excited too~ they started showing up shortly after I did. We were told in our parent handbooks to be there between 4:30-5pm. So I was hanging out with another mom and all of a sudden we saw a bus~ yes I was jumping up and down~ turns out it wasn't our kids~ The kids finally started rolling in right around 5 and when I first saw Nate I had to do everything in my power not to run over to him, grab him, and hug and squeeze him~ I didn't want to embarrass him in front of all his classmates~ so I said hi and helped him get his stuff to the car.

Once in the car it was a whole different story~ I started crying when I told him how much I had missed him~ I couldn't hold it in any longer. I just had to share with him how much I really did miss him.

Sounds like Nate had a great time~ He did have KP (kitchen patrol) twice~ he didn't like that part of it but each kid had to do jobs while up there.

Some of the fun things that Nate did was: Archery, Nature crafts, bog study, fire ecology, climbing wall, a bonfire, arts and craft, placed lots of games as a group with all the kids, safety class, lake ecology, canoing~ and Nate kind of fell in the water, he said it was really cold).

The kids and chaperone's had a blast and you could tell they were tired out~ all the kids looked like they could use a nap. I asked his teacher , Mr. Hinker, if he was looking forward to a 3 day weekend and he said he could use 7 days off just to nap.

I am soooo happy Nate is home~ I missed him so much~ I though that after a day or so I would enjoy my time off from him~ really didn't. It was very hard coming home from work knowing that he wouldn't be there and that the house would be so quiet. I do think this was a great experience for him and I am glad that I let him go. Maybe his next trip away from me won't be so hard.

Hopefully some other kids took pictures of him so I can share those with you all.
